ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Philippe de Vosjoli
A Lifetime of Writing on the Care of Animals and Plants
Philippe de Vosjoli has been growing and propagating unusual plants for over forty five years with an emphasis on species that develop sculptural forms. In the 1980s while in graduate school in Massachusetts, he started a part-time plant business and later formed a partnership in a nursery with 10,000 square feet of greenhouses. He later moved to California and made a career out of his other passion: finding ways to successfully keep and breed amphibians and reptiles. He was the co-founder of the Vivarium magazine and the publisher of the highly acclaimed Advanced Vivarium Systems line of books. With more than a million books in print, he is the bestselling author of more than thirty titles on reptile care and vivarium design. The first edition of Pachyforms,a category bestseller, was his venture in horticultural writing. This was followed by Bonsai Succulents co-authored with Rudy Lime, one of the pioneering founders of this horticultural art. Philippe currently lives n Southern California with Gigi de Vosjoli, his wife, best friend, and supportive partner in his never-ending esoteric projects.
